We had a pause in the rain on Thursday. We hurried up and worked 75 head of cows and branded the calves. The corral was a mess, but I'm glad we did work cows.
On Thursday night it started to rain and it hasn't stopped. We're looking at 2 1/2" of rain and its Sat. noon. The Ducks and Geese are the only ones who are holding up. And I'm not sure they are going to stick around. They even like to have some dry ground to waddle around on.
While On the rainy day note, I did some home shop diagnostics on the Trailblazer, looking for the source of the non-discript noise. Turns out it IS in the transfer case. This can only mean a couple of things. Bearings out, chain loose, or some other major component out of alignment or having damage. Not happy stuff. We'll make it work.
The grandparents have taken the time to start building the playhouse grandma er.... I mean Maggie has always wanted. Its pretty stinking big. I think i could move in and make a nice man cave out of it. Mostly built out of material on hand, but they did go a buy some siding for it. I'll get pictures for you.
I pulled apart the SR9 last night after 200 rounds break in. I see some slight barrel peening. Polished the peening off and smoothed the mating area on the slide. I don't expect to see any more peening. Icouldn't stand the trigger, so I have some trigger parts coming in the mail. This trigger has to be in to 9-10 # area. When I'm through it should be in the 4-6# area. Total cost will be in the 50$ range for the upgraded components. I've also removed the magazine disconnect. I did this so that the end of day, unloading and storing procedure is the same as my XD. I have a mental block of having to have the magazine in place to dry fire my weapon. I'm not against the mag out safety for any other reason than it is different from the XD and dry firing the SR9 without a mag in can cause permanent damage the the striker. Turns out I like my procedures to be the same.
I have more to say but a bowl of ice cream with strawberries went floating by a second ago. Further investigation is required. Have a good one.
