It comes in a simple plastic box with the bare essentials. A mag loader, 2 magazines, and the gun.
Left side view. You have the slide stop, trigger, mag release, and a safety. One of the biggest web complaints on this gun is the safety. Pretty much everyone thinks having the safety is a hazard. They don't want to have it accidentally trip on safe when they are shooting or some other similiar argument. I can tell you this. They haven't tried to activate this safety. You HAVE to apply this safety with some real effort. But to take it off, a simple brush of it and its off. Its easily done so with the first joint below your Thumb nail. Its a training issue. nothing more nothing less. The slide release is smallish. I don't use one 98% of the time. I'm from the school of gross motor skills during combat will be all you have, so train like you fight. Rack the slide every time.
Ambidextrous mag release and safety. Extractor and dust cover pic rail.
Top view. Loaded chamber indicator and some decent white dot sights. I like the chamber indicator. Similar to the one on my XD. I like the tactile feel. I've used it before in the dark.
An interchangeable rubber back strap and lanyard leash. Using that 12 gauge slug for reference you can see that is a very slim grip for 17+1 capacity of 9mm paper punching bliss.
Breakdown isn't as easy as my XD, but its still a relatively easy. Slide back and locked. Press down on the ejector mechanism internally, and remove cross pin shown above. Release slide and move forward off the frame.
Field stripped to major components. Fit and finish is a bit rough. But it is a budget firearm and I didn't find anything that won't polish up after 500 or so rounds. A couple of days shooting should tell what kind of beast she is. I gave her a good cleaning and a proper lube job. I have a tendency to over lube during break in.
Lots of tooling marks on the barrel. Rough enough to snag the bore patch while wiping it down with oil. That will polish of easy enough.
Down the barrel looks a bit roughish too. I don't suspect that this will really effect the performance.
Magazine comes apart easily for cleaning of debris picked up when you drop it on the dirt during combat reload drills.
The trigger leaves a lot to be desired. Long, rough, and hard to squeeze. I suspect that will smooth up some with use. If it doesn't, you can buy a drop in trigger bar that will fix all of that for under 30$.
Overall impression: Its a budget shooter. Proper care will take care of most of what ails it, as well as a good old fashioned breaking in. It fits smaller hands well. It has some features that some people want and some that others don't. Decide what you'll live with and move on.
Oh her name is, Laverne. You'll find out later why.
