So is it permissible to shoot coyotes when you see them?

Absolutely. And its encouraged. Many ranchers in the area have quit raising sheep. Coyote damage costs to much.

They need to go back to 1080. I don't remember these predators when I was growing up. Oh, I stand corrected. Mike Mosolf of Dillon wrote a letter to the wolves (Western Ag Reporter, May 26, 2011) saying "Every kill (wolf) gives the Lupis-phobes a new reason to bring back Compound 1080, the most inhumane poison ever put on public land." The only reason this poison was inhumane was because it worked. I am sure he would say that the way the lambs were killed was humane, and besides I am sure he thinks raising animals to make money is a sin.
